My name is Ray Stevenson and I come from a family of Signwriters who originated in Edinburgh, Scotland.

My parents Mason and Pat Stevenson immigrated to Ballarat, Victoria, in 1974 with me and my 3 brothers. (One brother unfortunately didnt have what it took to be a Signwriter and settled on being a Doctor.)

After about 1 week of marketing himself around the traps, Dad established "Mason Stevenson Signs" and commenced what is now a well known name and reputation around the district of Ballarat Victoria. He is still functioning today, although at 70+ he thinks of retiring, but knows he wouldn't enjoy life as much without the stimulation that caring for peoples' image generates. (Much to our delight.)

My two brothers were apprenticed by Dad, but I went the long way around, skipping from various job after job and finally settling on Auto Graphic Design. This was the era of vehicle pinstriping and vinyl graphics that hit Australia during the eighties; a fad that lasted a decade and provided me and my family with a good living until the Auto Graphics industry evolved and merged with main stream signage. So began my journey into the signage market with all its variety.
